Juvenile Court Probation Officer

Ross County Juvenile Court | Chillicothe, OH

Ross County Juvenile Court is a State-recognized Title IV-E Court seeking a Juvenile Court Probation Officer to support court-involved youth and families through a rehabilitative, family-centered approach. This position blends probation supervision with case management and social-work principles to promote accountability, stability, and positive outcomes.

What You’ll Do

• Provide case management and probation supervision for unruly and delinquent youth
• Work collaboratively with youth, families, and community partners using a wraparound model
• Conduct pre-dispositional investigations and prepare court recommendations
• Facilitate family and service team meetings
• Develop and monitor individualized case plans
• Maintain documentation in SACWIS and ensure regulatory compliance
• Coordinate placements and services when youth are in court custody

Schedule, Salary & Benefits

• Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm (on-call availability as needed)
• Salary: 21.00-25.00 hourly based on experience

Qualifications

• Associate degree + 5 years of relevant experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience working with court-involved or high-risk youth
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related field.
• Experience in juvenile court, probation, child welfare, or SACWIS
• Experience with mental health, substance use, or restorative justice programming

Work Environment

• Office, court, and community-based settings
• County and out of county travel required
• Occasional evening or weekend availability
